RESEARCHED FACTS: Humanity uses free natural resources worth a total of 20.7 trillion British pounds each year, according to report published by a team of ecologists and economists from the University of Maryland in the USA.

That is the average value placed on services, such as irrigation, pollination, waste disposal and raw materials, such as oxygen, metals and minerals provided annually by the Earth.

The staggering sum means Mother Nature gives us nearly twice as many goods and services as we produce ourselves, with the output of GNP of the human world economy valued at just 3 trillion pounds. It was calculated by the Maryland team to highlight the vital but unsung contribution of the Earth to human welfare.

Publishing their research in Nature magazine, the team led by Professor Robert Costanza, warns that the lack of price tag on the world's ecosystem has meant a failure to appreciate their true worth..." The economies of the Earth would grind to a halt without the services of ecological life support systems, so in one sense their total value to the economy is infinite".

Tafakkur : The above research facts are indeed a 'wake-up' call for all those who have been brought up on the apparent belief that it is the human race, with its superior brain and brawn power that is responsible for the progress and prosperity and continuity on this planet. The advertisement blitz carried around the world by MNC's and others have instilled in our mind set, that had it not been for their extensive research and efforts, we would have been left much poorer - the Glorious creation of Allah does not even get a passing reference and mention, most of the time.

The belief in 'materialism' is so deep rooted amongst the career oriented, 'info tech coolies' as one leading  Indian scientist calls the rat race pack. If an appointment or meeting is missed, they get so agitated and upset, but if a 'namaz' or 'mazlis' is missed, there is no realization or feeling of any sort.

Rabbul- Alamin is not only the Creator of everything in the universe but its nourisher and sustainer as well. We should always offer Hamd and shukr to Allah for His azeem ehsanaats,and should reflect on His Glorious Creation. Aqa Moula (TUS) had established The Burhani Foundation for environment preservation and studies, as an act of Hamd and Shukr.

It is true that the enlightened and emancipated are always in perpetual awe and wonder of the Glories of Allah. We are like a well frog, who fails to comprehend the vastness of an ocean. Once an ocean frog comes visiting a well frog, and the host is delighted to show the visitor his home. As the talk progresses, the well frog becomes curious and asks the ocean frog about his home. How big it is etc.: To his reply that it is very very big, the well frog is not satisfied, and wants to know how really big it is. He jumps from one end of the well to the other end twice, thrice a hundred times and more,  and each times asks - that big - the ocean frog is at a loss, as to how to make his dear friend understand. Such is the problem faced by the truely enlightened souls.

We should hold firmly with conviction and faith his 'daman' - the act in itself is our emancipation.

Now that Aqa Moula (TUS) has reached London for Milad Mubarak, the makami mumineen must be overjoyed and are ready to 'set the Thames on fire - nay to set the Thames a glow with rich cultural Fatemi heritage and traditions, that will enliven the minds of mumineen the world over for many years to come. My humble prayers are with all the khidmatgujars.
