Science fact : There are more than 100 million neurones in one inch diameter sphere of a man's eyeball, all working to keep him visually informed.

Taffakur : silly me ! using the untiring and continuous efforts of millions of neurones to watch for hours on end a cricket match on the telly that has been 'fixed', every thing well planned and worked out, and wads of notes deposited in the bank vaults, before the first ball is bowled. Here I am wasting my precious Allah gifted talent and energy, arguing and fighting with friends, over the 'turning point' of the match, that led to the humiliating defeat.

Or my wife, for that matter,  watching for hours on end,  tear jerker soaps like the long running SBKBT and empathizing with Tulsi, living with her day to day sorrows and predicament. The women brigade were up in arms with the producers of the soap, so much so, that fearing falling TRP ratings, the director was instructed to breath life back into Mihir.

These are just two representative examples, different in different countries and culture,  but the fact is that, in most cases the intelligence faculty is hypothecated once you put the telly on, as most of what is dished out as popular entertainment addresses to the baser elements and libido. I repeat, in most cases and not all cases. Obviously there is much good and informative. No denying the fact, but we should use discretion, and simply not 'taken for a ride'.

We should reflect on the glorious creation of Allah, devote some private moments to be with nature and enjoy its sublime beauty, and try to find answers to the riddles of Nature. That is precisely what Allah wants his emancipated 'ibad' to do.

Have you ever reflected that on seeing the benign , spiritually radiant and smiling face of our beloved Aqa Moula (TUS), tears stream down our faces, and we are embraced in spiritual bliss and joy, which is hard to describe, only to be felt and experienced. What is the 'chemistry' that is working.  No such feelings are experienced when we come face to face with more pompous and grander show of a passing procession of Pope or other stalwart religious leaders or for that matter, world leaders.  Just a simple act of hands raised in acknowledging 'salami'  raises a torrent of emotions, ladies  unmindful of their little siblings, thrust them up precariously for  the 'deedar' of their beloved Moula , the old and the infirm summon all there energies and jostle with the young and energetic for better 'deedar' unmindful of the barricades or volunteers, and the radiant joy that lights up the faces of the assembled on such occasion, is ethereal, a thing to be seen and experienced, rather than to described.

I have been reflecting on this phenomena for long. Is it only 'valayat'  or my being born as a mumin, or my upbringing or there is something more. Even if I do not attain the 'truth' the 'manzil' I am enjoying the journey of reflection, it is 'ibadat' which all of you will agree. Do please reflect on the creation of Allah.

May Allah grant my beloved Aqa Moula (TUS) sehato -afiyaat - ta- kiyamat. Ameen.
